Many times, the grandparent has had a chance to relay much of their life story to their family in the way of almost expecting that their death would come, but for Michael Warner, this was not the case. Even though his grandfather was a famed author with numerous published titles he never shared the details, even the pictures of his life. His courtship and marriage were mysteries that even those closest to him didn't know.
Upon his death, Michael's grandfather left his house to Michael and hidden within it were the secrets to his grandfather's untold life. Throughout the novel Michael begins to uncover the very essence of his grandfather as written in his last, unpublished manuscript.
I would love to give you more details, but Dan Walsh did such an amazing job with this novel that I would hate to give out any spoilers. Let me say this now, I am a huge Dan Walsh groupie. Really I am.
It took me a bit to get into this novel. I think it wasn't until page 50 or so that I was really hooked, but once I got past that initial time of wondering when things were about to pick up I couldn't put it down. Literally. I think I read this book over the period of one day and it was worth every minute. The characters were well-developed and believable. As is to be expected with any Dan Walsh novel, the historical facts are equally believable and well-woven.
If you want a novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat while weaving in the perfect amount of romance, then please, let me recommend Dan Walsh's novel, The Discovery to you. You will not be disappointed.
